We have a serious bug problem.
When the sun is out and the temperature is mild, our house is covered.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
What kind of bugs are they?
They really like the area where we park and where we go into the house. I feel like I'm in an Alfred Hitchcock movie every time I leave the house. (oh, that was birds wasn't it?)
The boys have had a great time stabbing them with sticks and rocks against the brick on the front of our house. It makes for very pretty decoration. Some day I will get out the house and wash all of them off. But not yet. Because I know there will be more.
They are constantly coming in the house. There's no stopping them. They hide in every crack and crevice of the doorway.
I seriously feel like we are under attack. I get the boys all ready. They wait at the door. I flip it open and tell them to run for their lives.
I few happy accidental deaths have occurred. Serves them right for lurking in my doorway.
This is nothing. They've been much worse.
Look at how they hide in the front door speaker!
Can you see the pesky little antenna sticking out of the speaker slot?!
Yes, we have a whole house speaker system from the '70s. We're cool like that.
Seriously. Does anyone know what kind of bugs these are and how we can get rid of them.
Sorry for the gore and guts, but this is my life right now.
Kelli F. told me about your blog. :) I had to comment on this, we have the same thing at the house we just moved into! My hubby researched online and found they are box elder bugs. We followed the advice online and sprayed them with a spray bottle of very soapy water. They died almost immediately! Some fell off the house and the others we just sprayed off with the hose. A nice easy fix for these crazy pests! Though we also read they are harmless and are only looking for warmth.
