Floors Stained- Minwax Early American

I wasn't planning on showing this yet.

I wanted to wait until the floors were completely finished.

But I need your opinion.

We went through one gallon of stain on the entire house. That's it. We used wood conditioner before we started staining in most of the rooms. To be honest, I think it was a waste of time and money. The floors look pretty similar where we used it to where we didn't.

But I'm not sure about the color. I wonder if we should put down one more coat.

What do you think? I'm kind of thinking another coat would be best but my wrist and fingers say the floors are perfect the way they are.









 
Leave it or another coat?

    I think it looks AWESOME! I really like it the way it is. It would also look good another shade darker, but I don't think it's even necessary! I love it.

    I think it looks good now too. Have you coated an extra piece twice and put it up to it to see if you like it better? Either way it will look good.

    I just finished putting down my own reclaimed pine floor. I was looking for stain colors and found you via Pinterest.
    I like it so much I'm going to do mine just the same. So that's my vote! :)

    I love your floors and am using them for inspiration. How long did you leave the stain on or did you wipe it off pretty immediately? It's gorgeous!

    Hi Deb! We left it on maybe 5 minutes, tops. But we did do two coats. It made the color a little richer. Thanks!

    We did. It was a matte oil-based polyurethane.

    Finishing the wood adds a defensive layer to the floors surface which washing with water essentially can't. flooring contractor in grants pass oregon
