House Rules Art Project

I don’t know if you’ve seen the different ideas people have pinned on Pinterest for listing their House Rules.
I saw one I really liked and thought it would be fun to do as a piece of art for our new house. Then at the second hand store I found this beauty for $9.

It is BIG. And heavy. It is solid wood. And yes, that is painter’s tape because I almost forgot to get a before picture.
I used my mom-in-law’s Cricut to cut out all the letters. She had some sticky vinyl that I used and was able to just place it on the picture once it was cut.

But it was VERY time consuming.
Here it is ready for a coat of paint.

And the final project.

I sprayed the paint light enough that you can still see the picture underneath a little. Now all I have to do is spray it with a clear protective coat.

Here is a close-up. I thought the bird on a branch and the D was a nice personalized touch.
