The City Delicatessen- a review

I may be a little biased, but the downtown area of Holland is one of the best places to spend your time.

I recently fell in love with a newer restaurant that is right on 8th Street in the heart of downtown. This place can’t be beat for their unique menu and great atmosphere.

I didn’t get a picture of the front of the shop, but they have some cute tables set outside along the boardwalk. I love the theme of the place and the cityscape artwork is charming.IMG_0355

But the food is what gets me. They have all these great specialty sandwiches to choose from. They also have soup, salad, and even pizza. My favorite sandwich is the Los Angeles. It has thin slices of apple along with bacon and ham. Don’t even get me started on the bread! Delicious! The sandwiches are served with kettle potato chips that are covered with salt and pepper.

After the main course you can get frozen yogurt. They have around six different kinds- from vanilla to mango. And then there is a bar that you can top your yogurt with anything from granola to gummie bears. (although this is a little more expensive than going to your local ice cream shop- but scrumptious).

But the best part is at the ‘rear’ of the store. Ha!

The girls’ bathroom is to die for…

This baby can clean any way you want and then give you a blow dry to boot. I didn’t try all the options out, but it is worth coming to this place if only to use the bathroom!

So, if you are in the area- check it out!

Here is a corny video they put on YouTube.com.

*this is not a paid advertisement. I did not receive any reimbursement for stating my opinion. I am, however, stalling because my realtor has not returned my calls and I have no idea what is going on.

When I find out, I will let you know.
